Hi Jason, Below is the result of testing PAI. 1. When doing upgrade test (ATV10 -> ATV12(FW without youtube kids)) in registered PAI board, the youtube kids is NOT installing. 2. After factory reset, the youtube kids is installed. The result of testing, if end-user did not factory reset, youtube kids is not installing. (It seems that have to go through the setup wizard to install youtube kids.) I have a few questions. 1. Is the PAI setting "Required"? 2. Is youtube kids installation through setup wizzard? 3. If end-user delete youtube kids, the youtube kids can NOT install by auto? 4. When the ATV10 STB is deployed in the field, how often does the youtube app usually update when the user does not take any special action? (Youtube Kids has an update app in September of last year. If there is a user update from ATV10, there seems to be no issue when updating to ATV12.) Please test and reply your opinion. Thank you. Kim |

We don't know the release plan of YouTube Team, the key point for YouTube update without any special action is "user must login google account and enable auto update in PlayStore [default is enable]" The key point is that PAI is working at Setup wizard stage. if you want to remove YouTube from ATV12, I think the best solution is Digicap should make "fake YTKids icon" in app lists. if YTKids hasn't updated in ATV10 (it means the YTKids will be removed from ATV12), when user update from ATV10 to ATV12 without factory reset. if user click "fack YTKids", the screen will redirect to PlayStore and download it. This will ensure users can use YTKids in ATV12. Thanks, Jason |

Hi Jason This is a request from SKB. Please remove YTKids from prebuilt in Smart3 OS12. And PAI setting for YTKids should be applied to Smart3 OS10/OS12. Additionally, Apple TV+ is also considering removing it from prebuilt, but it has not been decided yet. I'll let you know when it's decided. Thank you YK.Jung |
